Karmidanda Village is a beautiful village located on the edge of the Langtang Valley National Park. It is about a 5 hour bus ride from Kathmandu, and is seated near the top of a mountain with outstanding views of the Himalayas. My wife and I have lived in this village for our whole lives, and have raised our 3 children here. We grow our own rice, millet, maize, vegetables and some fruits. We have wonderful weather here with sunny days 10 out of 12 months (September - June as July and August are the rainy seasons). We have 3 rooms available for rent. A shared living room, a shared outdoor balcony with gorgeous views of the garden and mountains. As well as a rooftop terrace. We also have a cow and calf in which we take milk each morning and use to make yogurt and ghee. You are more than welcome to learn how to milk the cow and make yogurt and ghee with us. This is a true homestay experience where you can learn about Nepali life, culture, farming, caretaking of animals, and just enjoying the beautiful nature surrounding us. We are also happy to take you on local hikes around the village and surrounding areas. Karmindanda is a beautiful farming village surround by terraced rice and millet fields, farmed by people who have lived there for generations. The views are stunning, wildlife abounds, and the stars on a clear night will take your breath away. This house is newly built, with panoramic views. Although we don’t have a shower, we provide hot water daily for your wash. TV receives English language channels. Unlimited wifi. The guests can get a bus in kathmandu (machhapokhari) where they can ask a bus to kalikasthan which is around 100km drive. The bus is available every day starting from 7 in the morning to 1 in afternoon. Once the guests arrive at kalikasthan (army check post) they should walk around 300m and turn left towards offroad and they should continue walking around 30 minutes (3km) to reach karmidanda homestay.
