Esther Cardoso is a Cuban film and theater actress, producer, director and teacher. A graduate of the University of the Arts (ISA) in Havana in 1984; obtained a Masters in Theatre Arts. Between 1985 and 1998, Esther was cofounder of two companies leading theater in Cuba: Teatro Buendía and Argos Teatro. With these companies, she acted around the world several times, including The Edinburgh Festival and the Festival of the South Bank in London, England. In addition to teaching, she has taught several workshops in Cuba, Spain, Argentina, England, Germany and Australia. She is currently the artistic and general director of the Gaia House and the director of the theater group Gaia Theater of Havana. Esther continues to act and work permanently in the actor's art workshops based on the Gaia House.
